Financial review of a health card insurance scheme - Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, one of our consultants from Health Partners International undertook a financial review of a health card insurance scheme.

The scheme, funded by the local affiliate of the British non-governmental organisation Marie Stopes International, involves a basic package of sexual, reproductive and general health services provided to poor people living in urban areas.

The review estimated levels of cost recovery and compared the performance of clinics in different parts of the country.

Potential areas in which savings could be made were identified for further analysis.
