Review of community-based blind and low-vision rehabilitation - Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, one of our core consultant from Health Partners International evaluated a number of community-based rehabilitation projects. These were being implemented in six districts by British non-governmental organisation (NGO) Sight Savers International (SSI).
The consultant assessed the impact of the projects on people with blindness and low vision and looked in detail at:
- who had benefited from the project
- barriers that had affected the participation of women and older people in the projects.
The findings and recommendations informed the design of a future programme of rehabilitation support that SSI implemented in Bangladesh.
