Health care technology management

Health services use and depend on a wide range of equipment, facilities and technologies. We, at Health Partners International (HPI) provide specialised technical support and capacity building for managing all aspects in the extensive field of health care technology management - from needs assessment to procurement; facility planning to rehabilitation; construction and upkeep; and from equipment specification to installation, commissioning, user training and maintenance.

HPI and our partner companies, Health Partners Denmark, HEART Consultancy, and Ziken International, deploy multi-disciplinary teams for assignments and projects.

We have considerable experience in:

  • assessing equipment and assisting in specification and procurement
  • establishing effective equipment management and maintenance systems
  • health facility appraisal, planning and design for rehabilitation and new development
  • detailed needs analysis, planning and costing for health care technology.

We often work with other related stakeholders, such as training institutions , and we review health care technology programmes for national and donor organisations.

HEART Consultancy has developed a computerised management and planning tool, Planning and Management of Assets in Health Services, or 'PLAMAHS'. HEART Consultancy, HPI and Ziken have also developed a range of guidance materials.
