Ziken International
Ziken International was established in Zimbabwe in 1986. It is a specialist health planning consultancy group committed to supporting the development of health services in developing countries.
Ziken International is now represented in the UK by Health Partners International but retains an office in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The organisation works with institutions ranging from national ministries to grassroots and non-governmental organisations.
Ziken's approach is to:
- bring together professionals from developing and developed countries, thus combining local skills and expertise with wider scale knowledge of health sector developments. This collaboration ensures professional services of high quality at reasonable cost
- strengthen local public and private sector capacity to undertake development work.
Areas of work have included:
- developing national medical equipment policy with ministries of health in Botswana and Namibia
- the development of detailed guidelines for equipment management at hospital and district levels in Zambia.
Publications
Ziken International has published a 'How to Manage' series of practical healthcare technology management procedure guidelines.
